Using color on your cabinets doesn't mean it has to be bold, it can be subtle color as well. A washed out gray with a tint of blue-green could do the color trick.
Wowza, what a beautiful dose of color! To me this last kitchen is absolutely stunning. What are your thoughts? Would you dare?
So what do you think? Would you be brave enough to color your cabinets? Next time your painting your nails, think outside of the box, would you put that hue on your cabinets?
Karndean Flooring is one of my absolute favorite types of
flooring for both for commercial and residential. Not only is it beautiful and extremely
durable, it has a great price point too. Karndean Flooring is a luxury vinyl
that comes in a wide variety of colors and styles. Their line features wood and
stone effects as well as a range of metallic, pebble and mosaic patterns. You
can create just about any look you want with Karndean Flooring.
When most people hear the term vinyl flooring they
immediately think back to that cheap and tacky looking stuff from the 90s, but
trust me this is not your mother’s vinyl! Karndean Flooring has a very realistic
look, whether you choose a wood, ceramic, metallic or textured look. The high quality and durability of this
flooring is only part of what makes it so great. The best part for many people
is probably the price point. This is a very affordable option for those who
want a luxurious looking floor without breaking the bank. Plus this might give
you a little extra to spend on furniture, art and other décor that can really
make your room pop.
Aside from their original products, Karndean Flooring , also
offers an innovative product called LooseLay LVT, which is acoustically quiet
and installs very quickly. This product been highly recognized in the industry
and even won the Best of NeoCon Innovation Award in 2011. If you’re the DIY
type this is a great option.
Okay, enough about that, let’s get back to style! As I
mentioned, you can really create just about any look with this flooring. They
literately have over 200 different options to choose from. Pictured is Karndean’s
Van Gough line in Burnt Ginger in a bathroom, their Art Select line in Winter
Oak in an office/sitting room and their Opus line in Urbus in a living room. There
are so many options available it can be hard to choose. If you’re interested in
a redesign or a completely brand new room that incorporates Karndean Flooring contact me or visit my website http://www.lisagilmoredesign.com

On March 6, 2013, I got the chance to sit and chat with Victoria Arendt on her radio talk show 'The Artist Speaks" on rhinoonair.com what a great interview and lots of fun!
I love so many elements of interior design, so many roles create a beautiful interior, all the different roles have to play nicely together for an interior to come together and sing! Once roll, that I find very important in interior design is lighting. Not only for functionality so you can see, but visually, it's an amazing way to add a little more of your character in your space.
As many of you know, I also love to shop local. One of my favorite lighting spots in the Tampa Bay Area is Biscayne Lighting. This great shop has been around for over 60 years. Every time I have a new project I am excited to hunt through Biscayne for the perfect pieces.
Most recently, I specified some beautiful lighting for a Hollywood Regency residence I have been designing. Take a look at these vintage show stoppers:
^^ In the entry way, I chose this unique piece, a mixture of matte metal, shiny gold and glass it brings an unexpected edginess to this chic entryway.
^^ HELLO BEAUTIFUL! This piece is absolutely breathtaking. Reminiscent of a Vegas hotel, it really takes this Hollywood Regency family room to the next level.
As you can see from the photos about, Biscayne Lighting offers a unique array of lighting for whatever space you may need to dress. So I thought I would take you on a little trip with me to one of my favorite local shops!
This past weekend, we sprung our clocks forward an hour. Pick up some pep in your interior as well!
