An evening at The Birchwood in St. Petersburg, Florida

Last night, myself and some local gals made a date to go to the new hotel hot spot in St. Petersburg, The Birchwood we've been hearing the buzz about this newly renovated space, and couldn't wait to feast our eyes on the design and the views. I am happy to say, it did not disappoint!

The ballroom was elegant and didn't distract from the beautiful view outside. 

(Also, do you recognize that wallpaper, it's the same pattern and colorway I used in Piquant Hyde Park's dining room!)

As we traveled through the space, I couldn't help but swoon over this delicious fabric covered wall, when is a fabric wall not luxurious?! Martyn Lawrence Bullard, is this your line for Schumacher?! If not, it's surely very similar.

The bedroom suites were designed very well with a nice welcoming color palette and again great textiles. 

And let's just talk about these bathrooms, these gorgeous, gorgeous bathrooms! I can't get enough of the Bordeaux feel. 

We traveled through the dining room and loved all the details that went into the design. The Sputnik Filament Chandelier looks fabulous to offset the tailored space with a modern vibe.

Cozy circular banquettes make sitting pretty easy! 

I love the details throughout the design, what a great art installation using the historic doorknobs. Simple, yet a big statement. 

We made our way up to the rooftop, and wow, those views! I could have stayed up there all day and evening!

*Fabric Friday* Brunschwig & Fils

This week I got the opportunity to view the new 2013 launch line of Brunschwig & Fils here in Tampa, Florida! Not only was I greeted with visual eye candy and beautiful textiles to touch, but it provided a great little history lesson as well.

So here are a few of the patterns and colorways that caught my attention, I hope you find them as beautiful as I did!

Some of the fabrics showcased were inspired by archival pieces from history. The two pieces on the top (the blue kilim design and the red floral pattern are both archival pieces) 

This last one is one of my favorites, I would love to use this somewhere!

As you can see, they really capture beautiful traditional patterns and put them into modern application. I would love to use these in a project, anyone else have a craving to put some of these luxurious fabrics in your home?

*FABRIC FRIDAY!* Lilly Pulitzer

Well, it's Easter weekend, and even though it's a rather cold weekend here in Florida, I still have my eye on the prize: SPRING!

I found this beautiful fabric "Heritage Floral" from Lee Jofa's Lilly Pulitzer line to be very fitting for my Spring time inspiration.

I personally love this color way aqua/orange, but there are many other options that might strike your fancy!

Giddy for Green

Lately, I have been on a serious green kick. Usually, I am attracted to the beautiful hue of Kelly Green, but recently all types of greens have been making me giddy! What is it about green? It's such a great color and can evoke so many emotions. It can leave and fresh and energized or moody and creative. Take a look at some of these green interiors that are inspiring me today:

First, I want to share some moody greens. I once read that art is represented best on a dark green palette. This following images proves that in fact, that statement is true.

Currently, I have been a little hot for Mint Green. Yes, I know, that surprises myself as well. But I can just can't get enough of the refreshing color!!

Regal Does It

As a designer, it's hard for me to pinpoint my personal design aesthetic, what really gets my design engine going. I am really drawn to all types of design, I think that as a designer, it is very important to be a Chameleon, ever changing style for each individual client.

Lately, I have been drawn to Regal influences. There is something fantastical about sitting in a heavily tufted piece of furniture dressed in the most beautiful velvet, or the glamour of perfectly placed gold details in an interior topped with all the intricate details.

Recently, DIFFA's Dining By Design took place and as always, I was impressed by the photos of the rooms that were created for the event. One that really stood out for me was the following designed by Buckingham Interiors showcasing Bradley Hughes. I was so pleased to see their stunning Rocco dining chairs, they have been one of my fav's for a while!

The well known Kara Mann always features a dark and very regal appeal to her design. The following images showcase her talent in two colorways, but in my opinion have the ability to be the home of a King of someone who is just very design savvy. ;)

We all know that purple is the color of royalty, so I couldn't help but show this stunning purple living room that just sings Regal beauty!

Not everyone has to be a King or a Queen to enjoy Regal design, infuse Regal elements through mirrors, fabrics, colors and art. Pretty soon you will have an interior that has serious wow factor!

Head Turning Fireplaces!

Usually when looking for a new place to live, whether it be to rent or buy, if it has a fireplace, then it's an added bonus. Yet so many of us opt for leaving it the same bland builder oak that was originally specified when the home was built. Get creative with your fireplace, find a beautiful piece of artwork or even a grouping that you love, re-paint it to contrast from the wall or completely match it to the wall, source some unique decorative tiles or moldings to add some pizazz! Bring some nature indoors with an organic stone. Treat your fireplace like a true gem and focal point of the room...

Always a fan of a good art display...

Ready to jump right in? Take out the old and replace with a modern streamlined fireplace...

On a budget but want to make a big impact? Simply display photos & postcards in a nice arrangement...

Painting the fireplace a coordinating color can make a big statement as well...

Cover Me In White!

The snow keeps falling and on my walk home from work a large fluffy snowflake fell on my eyelash. Inspiration for this posting literally fell on my face. As I felt the white snowflake melt away I began to think of fresh, pure white interiors. I love the thought of waking up everyday in a beautiful pure white bedroom, a fresh, new clean palette to a new day...

Full of antiques and art, this beautiful NYC apartment of Thomas O'Brien has a lovely white canvas joined by two large windows gushing with natural light...

O'Brien did another great job on this North East interior:

Barbara Barry is the queen of serene. I love her elegant style and calming interiors... 

Local Chicago girl, Kara Mann knocks my white socks off with this very simple white bedroom, I absolutely love the contrast of dark floors and the dark Gothic vibe chair... 

UK Designer, Kelly Hoppen is known for her taupes, creams and white interiors...

Ah, yes, here is that pure white bedroom I can picture myself waking up in...

Now on to white kitchens, but please, no pizza sauce stains...

I love white interiors, but I am completely smitten with this ALL white interiors, these white floors make my heart flutter, want a really crisp interior? Paint it all out white!
