Welcome to day 2 of "31 Days of  LOCAL Holiday Shopping"! With the frenzy of finding the perfect gifts, fighting crazy traffic and picking the perfect outfits for the next few weeks of Holiday parties, you can't neglect your locks! So today's local shopping post is on you guessed it: HAIR! Here are two local ladies that will polish your split ends off and you will be feeling stylish and beautiful.

For my Central Florida followers, let me introduce to you Brittney Costine, stylist at Studio 323 Brittney is a Paul Mitchell hair stylist with a love for color, she can make you whichever color you desire. She brings a fresh and very well educated vibe to the Lakeland hair scene. (Brittney has been doing my hair for many years, I am always pleased with the outcome!)

A Bit of Bathroom Inspiration...

Currently, I am working on a bathroom in the Tampa Bay area, it is one amazing space. Not only is it just a bathroom, but it has a connecting sun room that is 250+ square feet, oh but it doesn't stop there, it has beautiful view of a peaceful lake, complete with, you guessed it, Lily Pads. Isn't there something a little magical about Lily Pads? I just can't get enough of them.

Anyhow, we are re-configuring the space to allow for a free standing bath tub, more sunlight into the cave of a shower area and completely relocating a vanity. The sun room is currently screened it, but soon it will be enclosed with nice windows, re-upholster a few pieces of furniture, slap on some new paint and before you know it this space to truly become one whole suite for the homeowners to enjoy.

As I have been gathering bits and pieces for this project, I have been running across many beautiful bathrooms of all types of styles. So, of course I had to share.

I don't know about you, but with this much energizing sunlight, clean lines and organic vibes, I might be able to start my day without coffee...

Dramatic but calm, industrial with a great historic vibe. I could soak in this tub for hours. Pour me a glass of red wine, light a few candles and give me a good book or some relaxing music to my ears, I'd be so happy here...

When I see this next bathroom, I instantly think vacation lake house or beach house. How about you? I love how they ran the boards in all different directions to give it some visual interest, but keeping it simple with one color all over.

I don't have to say much about this shower, everyone knows how much I love color. Mix that in with a classic Herringbone pattern and all I can say is "WOWZA."

My cup runneth over... and over, and over...

This has been one. amazing. week.  I don't know how else to say it.

I have been consumed by a smile that I can't take off my face. I feel like I am running through a field with a million balloons, just having the time of my life. Truthfully, I am having the time of my life, living my dreams.

Earlier in the week, I posted that I was being represented by a national company Mod Pet Life. Which is great news and I am excited for the doors it will open. Then today, I received a message on facebook from the social web editor of our local Tampa Bay news Bay News 9. He stumbled across my art, through a mutual facebook friend, and really liked it. He liked it so much, in fact, he wanted to interview me. So he did.

The following link is to the article featured on Bay News 9. I am beyond excited and grateful for this opportunity. It's an overwhelming feeling of happiness to see that my artwork has been discovered, liked and shared is such with such a public audience.

I am so thankful for my family and friends who have supported me for years through my artistic endeavors. You helped me reach this point. Thank you for believing in me. My cup runneth over, and I couldn't be more proud.

Feelin' Crabby?

As most of you know, the hubby-to-be and I relocated to the Gulf Coast... I love being close to the salt water, although I don't make it there nearly enough. (Planning to change that soon!) Anyhow, even though interior design and art is my ultimate passion (fingers crossed for more clients in the near future!), I do however work at a restaurant on the beach, (Hey! A gal has to pay her bills!) So, the other day I walked past the most beautiful plate of Stone Crab Legs.... now, I have to be honest... I don't eat crab legs. Of any kind. (I actually just started eating crab cakes!!) But the colors gleaming of these crabby gams got my inspiration wheels turning...

Look at the beautiful colors of cream, corals, reds, oranges and black in the Stone Crab legs! You guessed it... here are some Stone Crab inspired designs! :)

This image of the Henredon showroom is fantastic! I love the light and airy feeling from the use of colors and the fantastic contrasts from those stunning Barbara Barry chairs. (They are one of my favorites of her pieces!)

Coastal Love

Yesterday, I was driving to work and it was such a beautiful day here in Indian Rocks Beach, FL. The sun was shining and the water was glistening. It looked like someone just threw glitter in the bay. It brought an instant smile to my face and I felt cheery all day.

Throughout the day I was thinking of beautiful coastal inspired interiors and I haven't been able to shake this stunning color palette. I love the beautiful green and blue hues...

Catching Up...

Sincere apologies to all of my followers, I have been slacking in the blogging department. Big things are happening and I have fallen behind!

First and foremost, the fiance and I have relocated back to the Sunshine state... we miss Chicago dearly, and it will always hold a huge part of our hearts, but we are excited to start this new chapter in the Tampa area. He is working for the Tampa Police Dept. and I am getting the ducks in a row for Lisa Gilmore Design, (accepting clients now, so please send referrals my way!)

Along with getting settled and adjusting back to the warm weather, (No complaints here! Although, I do miss my scarves!) I have been busy painting some sweet little doggies... most of them are Christmas present orders, so I can't post any images of them until a later date, but here is an example of some of the work I have been up to.
